I am not throwing away my shot! The Law of Action.
/“A man was driving a wagon along a country lane, when the wheels sank down deep into a rut. The rustic driver, stupefied and aghast, stood looking at the wagon, and did nothing but utter loud cries to Hercules to come and help him. Hercules, it is said, appeared and thus addressed him: “Put your shoulders to the wheels, my man. Goad on your bullocks, and never more pray to me for help, until you have done your best to help yourself, or depend upon it you will henceforth pray in vain.”
Moral: Self Help, is good.
-Aesop Fable
My fascination with Universal Law continues. Before getting to the exciting part - the Law of Action, we need to know the following regarding a base line.
The law of Divine Oneness states: we live in a world where everything is connected to everything else. Everything we do, say, think and believe affects others and the universe around us.
The law of Vibration states: everything in the universe moves, vibrates and travels in circular patterns. The same principles that apply in our physical world apply to our thoughts, feelings, desires and wills in the Etheric world. These things have their own vibrational frequency, unique unto itself.
My point: Everything is made of energy. All things flow, they are fluid, they have a frequency, they vibrate and they move. That is the premise of my base line. We agree yes? This is about the energy of the mind and how it is supported by action.
Years ago, people were obsessed with “The Secret”. The premise was if you visualized it enough and imagined strongly enough that it was already yours-it would manifest in your life. 5.1 million copies of the book were sold and 1.5 million copies of the DVD. People were looking for a cure for what they lacked. Success, love, health, family, gainful employment, opportunity, respect, spiritual enlightenment etc.
They were looking for ways to materialize in their lives what they wanted. I think there were many disappointed Secret seekers out there.
There is however, reality to the Universal Laws.
“For you to manifest something in your life I believe you have to set a Clear Intention and then become a Vibrational match to it. What does that mean? It means you need to step into energetic harmony with your intention. When you are out of harmony with your intention you may inadvertently cancel your request to the universe. For example, someone who is overweight says “I want to be thin” and then orders French fries at lunch- is not a vibrational match for their intention. Their actions do not support their intention.”
-Erin Pavlina
Another example from Erin, is you want fish for dinner. You can’t sit back and say “I want fish from the lake for dinner” visualize it and hope it appears on your plate. You must go out with your fishing pole, bait the hook and catch the fish. Then you are a vibrational match for your desire. Now the Universe sees you want it. It’s up to the universe to get the fish to notice your bait and start biting. You have skin in the game. However, when fishing if you start doubting that you will catch a fish, you are slipping out of vibrational harmony with your intention. I am saying that controlling our thoughts is a big deal.
What do you want for your life? What does it look like, what tools do you possess to get you there? Maybe the Law of Action can help.
The Law of Action must be applied for us to manifest things on this plane. We must engage in actions that support our thoughts, dreams, emotions and words. It's easy to understand in terms of fish on our plate for dinner-go fish. It gets complicated when are desires are more complex.
We have all heard that like attracts like. Yet we question it and stumble with its contradictions because what we like we don't always seem to attract. In fact the opposite many times.
“What we attract is based on what kind of energy we put out and about the KIND of subjects our attention is focused on-not which version of the subject (positive or negative). The version of the subject is dictated by how you feel about the subject. Therefore, if you are focused on one extreme end of the positive/negative spectrum chances are very good that you will attract people, things and situations at the polar opposite of that. Or you could be in such a bad way, you do attract something, someone or a situation that is exactly like yours.
Resistance plays a role as well. Trying to avoid something (anything) is a very powerful ATTRACTOR. If my intention is to get a new job because the one I have is so awful, I will probably attract another awful job. If my intention is to get a new job because I feel I could be an asset and a contributor to a good organization chances are a good job will come along. I am not resisting the fact I hate my current job.
Example One
-Saying you Do want to attract positive people because you aren’t crazy about negative people results in attracting negative people. They will swarm to you. Stick to what you want.
-Try saying I DO want to attract positive people because I enjoy feeling upbeat and optimistic thus attracting positive people.
Example Two
-I need/want a partner to take care of me, I am fearful of being alone in the world. That attracts a person who has the same fear. Now there are two fearful people together who don't want to be alone.
-Try saying I want a partner to be with me because I enjoy the sharing of life with another person. This will attract people who share the same joy.
Example Three
-I want to be healthy because I am afraid if I don’t eat right and exercise I will get sick and die. This attracts disease and illness. Polar opposite of what you want.
-Try I want to be healthy because I feel good when I am healthy and I am able to do the things I like and enjoy the people I love. This results in attracting health.
Whew!
To net it out: Be clear with your intentions. Then take action and try to stay aligned with your intention. Intentions matter. Actions Matter. When you falter, bring yourself back to your intention. When the ball starts moving-you are on your way.
Lets’ get real. It is difficult to change your thinking in this regard. This is work. We tend to want certain things and situations in our life typically because we are afraid of what its opposite brings. Maybe learning to look at the world and the things we desire from a different perspective of intention is worth some contemplation. Maybe when we align our thinking we can actually attract what we desire. What is healthy and good for us. Then we need to use the Law of Action to start helping ourselves. Let our actions support our thoughts. The two go hand in hand.
“I am not throwing away my shot!”
-Hamilton, the Musical
Don’t miss your shot to live your best life.
If you want to help people go help them. If you want to write a book start writing one. If you want to lose weight start today. If you want to run a marathon start training. If you want to make more money start exploring ways to do it. If you want another job start searching for one. If these things make you feel good, whole and have integrity for you, do it. Get energetically aligned with what you want. Set your intention. The Law of Action must be applied to manifest what we want in life. Know however, it starts with you. No one else can do it for you. How you think and the supportive actions taken on your own behalf matter.
Remember the old saying “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”? Maybe that means intentions without action is just that. Don’t throw away your shot!
